This poster was created probono for a local non-profit organization called Poverty & the Arts, which strives to unite the local community and the homeless through sharing of the creation of various forms of art from painting to writing. The organization was holding a special event during the annual Artober celebration in Nashville. They wanted something that felt hip and trendy, and really feel "Nashville". I created this poster for them incorporating Nashville's skyline and a color pallette that is popular among the "hipster" community. I chose to include the little birds on the banners to represent community. Ever since moving to Nashville it seems I actually see birds sitting on the wires together in a way that I never saw when I lived in New Hampshire and the birds on a wire like that have really become an icon of community and sharing to me, which is everything that I felt the POTA event was trying to publicize. The organization's representitive I was working with loved the poster and returned a couple weeks later to have me design another poster for a different event.
